To access the centre of Tokyo from Tokyo-Narita international airport (NRT), located 40 miles to the East of the capital, several options are available:

  • By car: take the Higashi-Kanto express route, then Shinkuko.

  • By train: count between 1h and 1h30 to reach the capital on the Narita Express.
  • By taxi: cars are available on the Terminal building’s first floor.
  • By shuttle bus: the vehicles will take you to all the city’s main hotels and to Tokyo/Shinjuku train station.

To access the heart of Tokyo from Tokyo-Haneda international airport (HND), located just over 18 miles South-West of the capital, there are several options:

  • By car: take the Shuto Expressway no.1.
  • By bus: there are many bus lines available to reach the centre of Tokyo from the airport.
  • By train: the “Keikyu Line” and “Monorail Line” grant easy access to the capital’s centre from the airport.

What administrative formalities need to be taken care of before going to Tokyo?
