Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport: thinking big!

Texas always thinks big, which is why Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport has space for up to 260 gates, should its continued expansion require it. The airport, which currently has 5 terminals and over 160 gates, is the second largest airport in the US in terms of surface area. It needs the space to accommodate over 67 million enplaning and deplaning passengers (2017). It is one of only a few airports to offer flights to more than 200 destinations (50+ of which are overseas). From DFW you can fly directly to the French capital, Paris (as of March 2019). Air France’s services from Paris cover much of the African, European and Asian continents.

Dallas, (more precisely, the Dallas Galleria Mall) is home to the country’s tallest indoor Christmas tree. The 95-foot-high giant is decorated with 450,000 lights and 10,000 colored balls. It took a team of 50 people almost 2 days to erect it. The tree first appeared in 1984.

If you are driving to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, you can use TX-183, TX-114 and I-635. Remote, express and terminal car parking lots are accessible from the airport by walking or shuttle bus.

Public transit options include the DART’s Orange Line to DFW Airport Station located next to terminal A (a 50-minute ride). A Terminal Link Shuttle service will take you to the other terminals. An alternative is the TRE from downtown (Victory Station) to CentrePort Station (26 mins) and then two free shuttle bus rides to the terminals.
