Pittsburgh International Airport: a fast-growing airport with an impressive list of international routes

Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) is the second busiest airport in Pennsylvania – and one of the fastest-growing mid-sized airports in the USA. Passenger numbers increased by 9% in the 12 month period from May 2017 to April 2018 compared with the same period in 2016 to 2017. During 2017, the airport served just under 9 million flyers. Many of these were headed north, with Toronto and Montreal as the busiest international routes and Delta’s service to Paris Charles de Gaulle tied with Montreal in second place for number of departing flights. Its over 50 non-stop destinations include Atlanta, Chicago-O’Hare, Charlotte, Orlando and Dallas/Fort Worth. To drive to PIT, take the I-376W and turn off at exit 53. From the west, take either the I-376E then exit 53 or US-22E, exiting at PA-576-TPKE W/AIRPORT. Extended economy parking is served by a free shuttle bus to the terminal building, while the long-term lots and short-term garage parking are connected to the airport via moving walkway.
